NY BOTANICAL GARDEN ORCHID SHOW

It's here again at the New York Botanical Garden at last. Mesmerizing and seductive, The Orchid Show takes vertical gardens to new heights in its 10th year. The nation's largest exhibition of orchids offers insight into the mystery of these spectacular flowers and a gorgeous setting for evening cocktails. The show runs from March 3 till April 22. You can get there by taking Metro North from Grand Central Station. The train stops right at the entrance to the Garden.

The NY Botanical Garden also offers certificate programs in Botany, Botanical Art, Horticultural Therapy, Gardening, etc. This year are offering an interesting new program called DIG IN which features one day and Saturday classes in everything from urban gardening to identifying edible weeds!

The Orchid Show: On Broadway is a day full of showstoppers, star turns, and old favorites including: Hirschfeld's Broadway Scrapbook, the Showstoppers of Spring, Broadway Cabaret, and more! Tickets go on sale soon.

Escape the cold and celebrate the flora of the tropics with Caribbean Garden, an interpretation of the permanent collection in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory

The theme this year is Springtime in Paris. It is being sponsored by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society at the Philadelphia Convention center located at Arch and 12th Street. Best viewing hours are weekdays from 3pm to 9:30pm. The show runs from March 6th through March 13th.
